Chaos at Russian Airports Due to Drone Strikes: Passengers Stranded Without Food or Water

4

Mass flight cancellations and delays have hit airports across Russia following overnight drone attacks on May 7. Thousands of passengers remain stranded in terminals with no access to food, water, or assistance, as airlines struggle to manage the crisis. The attacks reportedly targeted military-industrial facilities.

According to the Russian-language edition of The Moscow Times, many travelers have been trapped for hours in overcrowded terminals, reporting a complete lack of basic services.

Aeroflot alone canceled over 100 flights, while similar disruptions were announced by Pobeda, S7 Airlines, Ural Airlines, Azur Air, Nordwind, and Nordstar.

Airports in Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Kirov, and Tambov have been severely affected.

Russian authorities claim that seven drones were intercepted near Moscow. The attacks appear to have specifically targeted infrastructure linked to the country’s defense industry.
